“We have a very large inventory, over 90 units in our warehouse, all makes and models -- any kind of ultrasound machine from two to 10 years old,” said National Sales Manager Cindy Slee. “There’s a market for everything. We can price them accordingly to meet anyone’s budget.”

The company’s diverse offerings include equipment rental and leasing plans that give customers many clinical and business options. “If someone opens a new clinic and is not sure it’s a great location, they will rent a machine for a few months to see if that’s a good fit,” Slee said. “Or, if they have a backlog of patients they may need an extra machine for two to three months.” Other customers are researchers who lease equipment to conduct studies; technical schools lease during teaching semesters.

The hottest trend in ultrasound is digital imaging, but that doesn’t mean that refurbished equipment is left in the dust. Using PACS, a “capturebox” unit combining hardware and software, analog signals from older equipment convert to digital images for easy storage and sharing among physicians. No paper, no film. “The radiologist can view it live or bring it up any time, anywhere,” Slee said. “Being in
a refurbished market, because some of our units are older, it’s very important to stay current, to be digital.”

CCE also takes care to upgrade equipment cosmetically including painting if needed. “It’s important
for customers and patients,” Slee said. “It’s like buying a used car. You don’t want it to be all dinged up.”
